SCIENTIFIC OVERVIEW

 Practice Gap

Despite widespread use of ICS/LABA therapy, many patients continue to experience poor asthma control, including exacerbation history. In routine practice, inadequate reassessment of control, adherence, and inhaler techniques may lead to inappropriate or delayed treatment escalation.

 Educational Need

Healthcare professionals require structured, guideline-aligned education to accurately recognize uncontrolled asthma, use validated assessment tools, and determine appropriate candidates for triple therapy.

 Methodology

This course uses an interactive, case-based learning approach combining clinical dialogue, self-assessment checkpoints, and guideline-aligned decision pathways relevant to real-world practice.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this learning course, participants should be able to:
  • Assess asthma control using validated tools in patients presenting with uncontrolled asthma and frequent exacerbations.
  • Identify modifiable factors, such as adherence and inhaler technique, prior to treatment escalation.
  • Recognize appropriate candidates for LAMA addition according to GINA 2025 and SINA 2024 guidelines.
  • Select the best-fit triple therapy inhaler strategy based on individual patient needs and preferences through shared decision-making.
